Boston Legacy Football Club Appoints Jennifer van Dijk as Team President

Boston (September 2, 2025) - Boston Legacy Football Club today announced the appointment of Jennifer van Dijk as Team President, a key leadership role as the club prepares to kick off its inaugural season at Gillette Stadium in 2026. van Dijk will oversee all business operations and help shape the club’s long-term strategic vision as it enters a transformative moment for women’s professional soccer.
van Dijk joins the club after spending the last two years as the Chief Executive Officer of Superplastic, a character-driven animation company with a global following and a robust multi-platform presence across digital media, games, merchandise, and television. Prior to joining Superplastic, van Dijk spent more than twenty years in major sports partnerships and digital innovation at IMG, Wasserman, and the NBA.

van Dijk brings a wealth of experience and leadership in the sports industry, having held executive roles at some of the most influential organizations in sports and entertainment. She spent nine years at IMG, where she worked deeply in emerging digital sports platforms. After IMG van Dijk served as Senior Vice President at Wasserman, leading a high-performing team focused on shaping digital sports partnerships.
van Dijk then transitioned to the NBA, as the Vice President of Team Marketing & Business Operations where she developed best practices for all 30 NBA teams in the areas of sponsorship and digital content. From there, she was recruited to join the LA Clippers (NBA) as Chief Strategy Officer where she created their first jersey patch partnership with Bumble.
Building on her success in the NBA, van Dijk returned to Wasserman in 2018 as Executive Vice President of Digital and Content Partnerships, to create Athlete Exchange, a unique service that creates content and marketing for athletes as influencers. She later transitioned to Chief Executive Officer at Hoonigan, an automotive lifestyle and content company founded by rally driver and Wasserman client Ken Block, bringing her expertise in fan engagement and content strategy.
van Dijk joins Boston Legacy Football Club as the club embarks on its mission to elevate women’s soccer and redefine the fan experience on and off the field.
