Los Angeles, CA (November 1, 2026) - The Legacy’s inaugural campaign came to a close Sunday with a 4-1 loss at Angel City.

The Legacy began the game switching the field often to create space. Their first look at goal came in the 4' when Sarah Schupansky sent in a cross for Amanda Gutierres, whose header was off-target. Gutierres remained a threat up top, with Boston working to find her with passes through the defensive line.

Goalkeeper Laurel Ivory was called into action in the 10’, making her first save to keep the score level. Boston continued to probe Angel City’s defense, with Schupansky looking to deliver crosses into Angel City’s box.

It was Angel City who struck first, netting in the 16’ from just outside the 18-yard box. Boston continued to move the ball effectively in the final third, and got on the board in the 37’. Gutierres struck a ball left by Aïssata in the box, driving it home to equalize the score.

Boston closed out the half having taken 10 shots to Angel City’s four.

Coming out of halftime, Boston subbed Barbara Olivieri on for Aleigh Gambone. Angel City made a couple attempts at goal before scoring in the 52’, when a cross to the far post was headed home. The visitors did not relent, taking several shots in the minutes that followed, but were unable to find the back of the net.

Angel City scored a third goal in the 72’, when a cross found a finisher in the middle of Boston’s six-yard box. The Legacy made another substitution in the 73’, sending Gift Monday onto the pitch for Gutierres. Monday went straight to work testing Angel City’s defenders. In the 82’, Ivory was forced to come out to deflect a shot and maintain the 3-1 scoreline.

In the 84’, an Angel City cross was finished at the far post to give the home team their fourth goal of the night. Boston fought hard to equalize. Bianca St-Georges got on the end of a cross in the 86’ but the shot went wide. The Legacy made a final pair of substitutions in the 86’: Annie Karich was relieved by Josie Hasbo and Aïssata was relieved by Nichelle Prince, who made her 150th NWSL appearance.

The Legacy close out their historic inaugural season with a final record of 9-15-6.
