Sam Angel returns to Chicago Stars
Boston (July 1, 2026) - Defender Sam Angel will return to the Chicago Stars at the conclusion of her loan on June 30. She initially signed a contract with the Legacy at the beginning of April to join the club through the summer.
Angel was initially drafted by Racing Louisville in the fourth round of the 2024 NWSL draft before signing with IFK Norrköping in the Swedish top flight. At Norrköping, Angel playing every minute of every game in 2024 while also scoring two goals as a defender. She transferred to Chicago in June 2025.
“Sam brought professionalism, commitment, and a strong training presence throughout her time in Boston, helping add depth to the group and support the high standards within our environment. We wish Sam all the best in the next stage of her career,” said Legacy director of recruitment Edward Gallagher.
The Legacy will next play against Bay FC at 12:00 PM ET on July 5 at Centreville Bank Stadium.
