Boston, MA (July 10, 2026) - Boston Legacy Football Club announced today that Sophia Lowenberg will go on loan to Gainbridge Super League club Brooklyn FC effective immediately until the end of December.

Lowenberg, who played four seasons for Boston College, was originally signed to the Legacy in December 2025 as the club’s first-ever college signing from a local university. She made her debut for the Legacy on May 30, coming on as a substitute against the Kansas City Current.

“Sophia has made real progress since joining us from Boston College and has been a really positive presence within our training group,” said Boston Legacy director of recruitment Edward Gallagher.

“She has a great personality, has adapted well to the demands of the NWSL environment, and now we feel competitive game time at the professional level will be key to the next stage of her development. We’ll remain in close contact with Sophia and Brooklyn throughout the loan, and our staff will continue to support her progression as we help prepare her for the next steps in 2027.”
