Boston Legacy FC Announces Athlete Advisory Board

Boston Legacy FC today announced the establishment of its Athlete Advisory Board, a group of elite current and former professional athletes who will provide strategic guidance on player initiatives and elevate the overall player experience.
The Board is composed of globally recognized sports leaders and Boston Legacy FC leadership including, WNBA All Star for the Indiana Fever, Aliyah Boston; retired WNBA player and Boston Celtics VP of Team Operations and Organizational Growth, Allison Feaster; US Soccer Hall of Famer, Kristine Lilly; World Cup champion and Olympian, Sam Mewis; and Controlling Manager of Boston Legacy FC, Jennifer Epstein; and General Manager of Boston Legacy FC, Domè Guasch. Together, the board will ensure that the club remains aligned with the experiences and needs of athletes, both on and off the field.
“This accomplished group brings unparalleled insight from the highest levels of professional sports and will play a key role in ensuring that athlete voices guide decisions across the club. The inaugural season in 2026 will mark the launch of a best-in-class, player-first organization, committed to excellence.”
Jennifer Epstein, Controlling Manager of Boston Legacy FC
It was important to the club to institute the Board from day one, to have athlete voices inform decisions around the player experience as the club builds out team operations ahead of first kick in March 2026.
“Building a healthy, high-performance culture starts with listening to the athletes who’ve played the game, whether it’s on the pitch, or the court, and using their insights to drive excellence. At Boston Legacy FC, we are taking these steps to build a club that helps players thrive on and off the pitch, and that players look forward to being a part of."
Domè Guasch, General Manager of Boston Legacy FC
The Board brings experience launching professional sports leagues, playing internationally and domestically, and competing against the world’s best competition.
“I hope to provide a perspective from my experience playing at the highest level on the international stage and being a retired professional athlete. I know what it feels like to be a professional athlete in Boston and what a great fan base we have here. It is a great place to play, and I want all future soccer players to feel that."
Kristine Lilly, former USWNT and Boston Breakers player, and most-capped soccer player of all time
All four have ties to Boston. Born in St. Thomas in the United States Virgin Islands, Aliyah Boston attended Worcester Academy where she earned three Massachusetts Gatorade Player of the Year honors and was named a McDonald’s All-American.
From South Carolina, Allison Feaster attended Harvard College, setting multiple Ivy League records while earning first-team All-Ivy honors all four seasons. She became the first athlete in any sport to be named Ivy League Player of the Year three times.
A native of Wilton, CT, Kristine Lilly joined the United States Women’s National Team while still in high school. She was the team captain and founding member of the Boston Breakers for the inaugural season in the Women’s United Soccer Association (WUSA) in 2001. She was named First Team All-WUSA in all three seasons of the league’s existence. She once again joined the Breakers in 2008, with the formation of the Women’s Professional Soccer league (WPS).
Raised in Hanson, MA, Sam Mewis earned Parade All-American honors twice in high school at Whitman-Hanson and was named National Player of the Year in 2010. In 2011, she won her second Massachusetts Gatorade Player of the Year, as well as ESPN RISE All-American honors.
“Growing up playing soccer in the Boston area, so much of my soccer career was shaped by the people and organizations in Massachusetts. I'm looking forward to supporting my hometown club, and helping BLFC set the standard for player care by sharing my experience and insight."
Sam Mewis, World Cup champion and Editor in Chief of The Women’s Game
The club looked to form a Board with a range of experiences and lived perspectives, especially those who have used their voices and platforms to make the game better for athletes and future generations. Its makeup of this group reflects that mission, uniting voices from different eras who have built upon the work of those before them to keep pushing the athlete experience forward, especially in the growth of women’s clubs, leagues, and federations.
“Boston Legacy is more than just a football club—it’s about community, pride, and creating something lasting for the city. I believe in what this club stands for and I want to be part of the foundation that guides its future."
Aliyah Boston, WNBA player for the Indiana Fever
All four athletes bring world-class excellence to the field and court, on the local, national and global levels, for college, club, and country. They’ve won World Cups, Olympic gold medals, collegiate national championships, and NWSL titles. They’ve been underdogs, with Feaster leading Harvard to the first-ever 16-seed victory over a 1-seed in the NCAA Tournament, to pressure-packed favorites, as Kristine Lilly won an eye-popping four straight national titles at UNC.
“Creating an avenue for input from a diverse set of proven champions, each with real ties to the city of Boston, is an important statement: the Boston Legacy FC athlete experience, on and off the field, matters. As a 17-year professional athlete who’s made a successful transition from the court to the 18-time World Champion Boston Celtics, I have a unique perspective. The goal for me is to contribute in such a way that we ensure this organization is the standard in women’s professional soccer.”
Allison Feaster, retired WNBA player and current Vice President of Team Operations & Organizational Growth for the Boston Celtics
As Boston Legacy FC prepares for its inaugural season in 2026, the club remains deeply committed to empowering athletes and setting a new benchmark for long-term player development in women’s professional soccer.
